What is Invisalign?

The dental implants offered at Newport Smile Studio offer a range of oral health benefits, including:

Durability: Dental implants are designed to last for many years, providing a permanent solution to missing teeth.
Natural Look and Feel: Implants look and function like natural teeth, blending seamlessly into your smile.
Preservation of Bone Health: Implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss that can occur when teeth are missing.
Improved Functionality: Dental implants restore the ability to chew, speak, and smile confidently without worrying about loose dentures or bridges.

Invisalign FAQs

What types of issues does Invisalign treat?

Invisalign is incredibly versatile. However, Dr. Etemad usually recommends Invisalign to address mild or moderate orthodontic issues, including:

Crowded teeth
Crooked teeth
Overbite
Underbite
Crossbite
Tooth shape

You might also benefit from orthodontic treatment with Invisalign if you have gaps or spaces between your teeth.

Am I a candidate for treatment with Invisalign?

To determine if you’re a candidate for orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, make an appointment with Dr. Etemad. During your appointment, she completes an oral exam, asks you about your goals for treatment, and takes a series of 3D images of your teeth using an intraoral scanner. Dr. Etemad uploads these scans to a computer and develops a digital treatment plan that maps out the step-by-step movements of your smile. She sends your treatment plan to a dental laboratory that manufactures your first set of aligners.

When ready, you return to the office and receive your first set of aligners. Invisalign provides more precision and comfort than traditional braces. Every 2-3 weeks, you change into a new set of aligners. In order to achieve the best results, you wear your Invisalign aligners for between 20-22 hours each day.

Do I need to clean my Invisalign aligners?

Bone grafting is often required for patients who have lost a significant amount of bone tissue in the jaw, which can happen after tooth loss or extraction. Bone grafting involves transplanting bone material to the affected area to restore the bone's structure and density, ensuring that it is strong enough to support dental implants.

Dr. Owyoung uses advanced bone grafting techniques to help patients rebuild their jawbone and prepare for dental implant placement. This procedure is an essential step for those who want dental implants but do not have enough bone structure to support them.
